Default Other gaming materials

Anyone use other rules, ideas or even settings from other games? Millenniums End seems to have a lot of good Merc type adventures. Anyone ever use gaming material not really related to TW2000 like a D&D dungeon etc?

I'm sure some pieces of Top Secret made it into my T2k games, but I'm hard-pressed to say what. I did have 2 boxes of Grenadier miniatures that saw a lot of re-use: one for Spies, one for Mercs.

Going the other way, I've been yearning to use the t2k v2.2 rules to run an espionage game someday.

Not gaming, but I know some of GIJoe comics elements made it into Top Secret when I ran it in high school, that was only a few years before I picked up T2k. Hard to believe some of that didn't leak over somehow.

Harnmaster/Gunmaster full conversion. Campaign ran for many years IRL. Definitely at the "crunchy" end of the rules spectrum, as is Millennium's End.

I was thinking about the personality traits for Top Secret, a nice sort of alignment system, palladium has a decent system too.

Never even seen Harnmaster/Gunmaster played is it more detailed that TW 2000? I was considering using Phoenix command system some years ago but I found it was too lethal and cumbersome.

I've been thinking about the character creation system from I.C.E Cyberspace. Especially the idiosyncracies and economic background. My grand scheme is to give v1 a better character creation system(I like the cyberspace and traveller systems), a psychological mechanic of some sort, incorporate radiation better, and do something about the shots/busrt mechanic.

I slightly modified the map from the Top secret into adventure (Sprechenhhaltenstelle?) and used it as my map for the HQ area for my main NPC.

I was also working on using some of the Advantages and Disadvantages from GURPS, keeping it to the more setting appropriate ones (things like Magic Talent were out).

But by then, the crowd I gamed with got back into nothing but D&D.

I've gone the other way, using elements from Twilight in other games. For example the abandoned NA facility in Kidnapped I adapted to use as a base in Aliens.

Me too; I found the OT-64 I used in a freeform game about a modern A-Team in the Soviet vehicle guide.

You might find the first two books in my Biafra Campaign Trilogy (Book #3 is about 65% done), Jungle Traveller and Short Days Ago to be of some interest.

Set in the near future, they offer a wide variety of missions related to the planning for, triggering and fighting of a Second Biafran War (Nigerian secessionists) in a three way struggle between rump Federal Nigeria, Boko Haram-ISIS (Caliphate) controlled 'Islamic Republic of Nigeria' (north and north central) and Biafra (SE and Delta) ... and also has action in Equatorial Guinea and Cameroon (and, eventually, in Book #3, in Chad).

They are written for 'Road to Armageddon' which is a Modern Military RPG, but could be converted to TW:2000 with a bit of work.

http://www.rpgnow.com/browse/pub/483...-to-Armageddon

There's also an Introductory Adventure, Last Light, which is initially a wilderness survival scenario with a twist, followed by a Terrorist-related campaign in the large North American/European or Australian/New Zealand city of Cidadestadtville.

All three adventure books are in excess of 200 pages of material (currently only available in PDF download form, but eventually as Print on Demand).

Anyone interested can email me at

aspqrz@tpg.com.au

and I will arrange for a $5 discount for each of the PDF Campaign Books you are interested in (offer good until the end of May 2016).

I'll be sure to pick up some copies soon, just waiting on the tax returns . I did a rpg a few years back Un-Civil War it's on my lulu page (see my sig) the pdf is free so feel free to download it. It deals more with an economic collapse and is more dystopian than apocalypse. I also made a small arms guide compatible with D+D 5e.

I was well known for using Commando maps. Also maps from Squad Leader -- with custom-drawn counters (paper glued onto posterboard). And Car Wars maps with miniatures.

I use those 1000 house plans books you can pick up from the grocery store for modern homes. random page, plans are there, where stuff goes, etc. Just add NPCs and loot.

Apartment Finder and Real Estate Finder books are also quite useful.

Usually Twilight to Dark Conspiracy, Armies of the Night contributed gang names for example.

That reminds me, I used to clip out house plans from the real estate section of the Sunday paper, for pretty much the same reason.

Of course, now, there are websites where you can look up floor plans. Thought I had a link saved but damn if I can find it now.

As many of you already know, I have mixed & matched all of the versions of Twilight2000 as well as MegaTraveller, Runequest, Top Secret, Fantasy Hero, and Boot Hill. I also have many "house rules" based on my Military, LE, and Security Careers.

Default other rules

I am working on using d20 modern as a sub for the old rules. Mostly to stream line the creation. Just trying to work out the hit points. Need it to still be deadly. Ideas would be helpful.
