Pretty good but for nerve gas, I'll chose cats instead of dogs. They don't need that much food and always generate them during meal times.

I would take a good size goose .

doubles as a burglar alarm / dinner pack

(traditionally some farms in Europe had geese as livestock -but the noise they make if frightened in the night will bring the roof down I am told )

plus feathers can be of use to insulate.

I am sure they taste better than both canine and feline companions.

Now to sell the idea to my wife....hmmm..

I once live on a ranch which had, among other animals, about 20 peafowl. Not as loud as geese, but you could easily hear them if they were upset.

Edible (though we never ate any). The peacock tail feathers are good for decorating your war bonnet

Basically a peacock/peafowl is a "chicken with bling" so they would taste like chicken almost. Actually they are a very close relation to the chicken. One time on YouTube, I saw a rooster and peacock fight over territory.
