Death by dice
ChalkLine 08-11-2004, 10:31 AM Have you ever had a PC who just had to die?
Worse than the guy who calls arty in on himself, gets a zero scatter? I GMd for a girl who's PC was setting a 155mm artillery shell as a remotely detonated antivehicular mine. Using ver1, she fumbled setting the mine . . . Feeling generous, I asked her to roll her skill again to see if it was just a dud, and she fumbled. Okay, I says, roll your skill again cos' it may have gone up while you were setting up the remote detonation station, so she fumbles again. "Okay, you're screwing the fuze into the head of the shell when it goes, roll a new PC please." Any good stories out there? ******************** Antenna 08-11-2004, 11:20 AM yeah, had some similar experience with a player in Ruins of warsaw in 99' The crowd gonna search an ambushpoint for the Black barons trucks when this guy playing a navy sailor steps onto an unexploded 155mm shell. I roll like 4 times for different values to let him pass unharmed from the round (with a final survival rate of 0.01%) but this day all dices showed that a player would die so I said just BOOM you are dead. The funny thing was that after that session some players said to me don't be afraid of killing of players in T2k, if you don't kill players now and then it will ruin the game So after that I had my killrate 'improved' as a GM Antenna ******************** TiggerCCW UK 08-11-2004, 06:55 PM Picture the scene; You're in a confined bunker complex, Theres a bend in the corridor ahead, you can see a doorway in it. Its about 10 meters away. "I'll throw a WP grenade" Are you sure? "Yes" You know how close are? "I know what I'm doing!!!!!" :nono: ******************** |
