HMMWV version...?
Twilight2000V3 09-18-2004, 11:30 PM Hey guys.... any idea which HMMWV version this is? I know its a plastic kit but...
http://www.maketorama.co.yu/gallery/...te/hmmwv-1.jpg ******************** Snake Eyes 09-18-2004, 11:44 PM According to Modern US Military Vehicles: "This is the station wagon of the HMMWV line. An armored superstructure with a taller roof line, humpbacked rear section, and external stowage of gear indicate that this is the troop carrier. Ten fully equipped troops can fit into this rig, if a lot of their gear is hung outside. A .50 caliber machine gun is secured to a pedestal mount; the gunner would stand on the transmission tunnel. There is no M-series number for this configuration, as it has not been adopted by the US military." http://twilight.devgru2000.org/images/hmmwvsq.jpg I call it the M1119, and is in standard use in my world. You can get a quick but decent shot of a real live one in the movie "Evolution," IIRC. ******************** pmulcahy 09-18-2004, 11:52 PM Who writes Modern US Military Vehicles? I'd like to look for it on Amazon Barnes & Noble.com. ******************** Snake Eyes 09-18-2004, 11:57 PM Modern US Military Vehicles The Crestline Series Fred W. Crismon Published in 1998 MBI Publishing, Osceola, WI ISBN: 0-7603-0526-9 I got it at Barnes & Noble in the military history section about 3 years ago. ******************** Grimace 09-19-2004, 01:25 AM That's interesting. I was going to say that it looked kind of like an M1035, but doesn't seem to have enough of a hump in the back section. Is M1119 the ACTUAL designation, Snake Eyes or something that you made up? I'll have to look in on getting that book. It's not one that I have. ******************** Snake Eyes 09-19-2004, 02:50 AM I completely made it up. I think it was because at the time M1119 wasn't being used. Not sure if that's true anymore or not. ******************** Antenna 09-20-2004, 09:20 PM So what we got here? If I understand this right this HMMWV is for a AAA role... http://www.ludd.ltu.se/users/antenna/extern/hmmwv.jpg ******************** Snake Eyes 09-20-2004, 10:48 PM Looks like a cross between an Avenger and a GI Joe toy. ******************** Last edited by kato13; 02-08-2010 at 02:08 AM. |
