Banned Users

I have reached a decision on the future of both Legbreaker and LAW0306. Each will be banned until August 1, 2010.

This decision has not come easily or lightly to me. Many factors entered me decision but the one that is the foremost is that chose to bring their mutual animosity towards each other onto this board even after both were warned they were on thin ice with me.

Since the founding of this board I have had many requests to ban each of the above mentioned users. I have been informed by many users that they didn't want to participate in this board if one or the other (or both) were present. I steadfastly backed the concept of Free Speech and resisted such a call.

However the recent events have made me realize that this is not a Free Speech matter but is instead part of some longstanding machismo based pissing contest between two individuals who apparently can neither interact civilly toward each other nor ignore the other. The end goal of some actions was in my opinion to drive one another away, that is unacceptable.

The internal debate I had over a long term bar or a permanent ban had many factors but the in the end I decided that a ban with teeth but offering hope for reinstatement was the best answer. However once the ban is lifted I will place both users on each others ignore list and they will do just that. The WILL ignore each other. Any response or PM to each other will result in year long ban.

I have extended LAW0306's ban until August 1st already. I will allow Legbreaker's ban to lapse for 3 days (Until May 4th) to allow him to download PMs, exchange emails with users, encourage users to go to a different forum, etc. I will allow LAW0306 the same three day reprieve if he requests it (not on overlapping days of course).

I check all new users to make sure they are not spammers and I will add a check against the banned users IPs to prevent reregistration. If I come across such an attempt to bypass the current restrictions will result in a lifetime ban.

I hope that the users on this board understand my decision and I will explain my future on this board in another thread.
