Conversion Guide?
Does anyone know if some official (or unofficial even) T2K conversion guide exists? I've been trying to find one for a while now. I'm basically a 1st edition guy, but I have a couple 2nd edition books, just not the actual rulebook. Also, just about every site I've seen for T2K appears to be done for v2/2.2, especially the ones I've found to have the most to offer.
So, is there some kind of conversion guide out there? Thanks for any help any of you can give in this.

Not that I'm aware of anyway.
Skills are fairly easy though with V1 being the 1-100 range and V2 1-10. Tasks should also be fairly straight forward too. As for vehicle damage, well, that gets a bit more complicated with 2.x really dumbing things down compared to V1.

Yeah, it's mainly weapons and vehicles that I'm having troubles with. Like I said, most of the sites I've found with new gear and vehicles, are done for 2nd or 2.2 edition.

Ahh yes, I'm new here but I know a bit about this sort thing. May I suggest that perhaps the rule system your using simply isn't comprehensive enough and you need to just chuck it altogether and start over. Just a thought. From my POV the Twilight 2000 story is strong, but the rules are weak. If I were you I would talk with Targan - maybe he can set you on the right path - towards a more realistic and much more gritty T2000 experience. I know, I've played more PC's in his campaign than anyone.

If you're after realism you could of course go with something really comprehensive such as Leading Edge's PCCS - tests the best mathematicians though....
T2K, any rule set, is adequate for gaming purposes though. It may not be perfect, but it's playable and gives decent results without bogging down in rules, tables, etc. Good to see another Australian on the boards too Arrisen!

Thanks Tigger, its good to be here. Gunmaster is what I know is all. I started playing Twilight 2000 back in 1987 and that's how I met Targan. We did use the original rules for a few years but by the early 90's and after playing alot of Harnmaster and seeing how much more detailed and I don't know - I want to say sophisticated - that system was there was no going back! Bill Gant made it possible with his conversion and then we somehow made it all fit for Twilight.
I never even saw what v.2 was like so I can't comment on that. V.1 was weird in some ways you know? Like you could get a sucking chest wound and as long as it was only the one bullet and your character was really tough, you could just keep on truckin! The way we played it was that if the hypovolaemic shock and/ or tension pneumothorax didn't kill you in short order (regardless of just how damn tough you were), then you still might die from infection. In fact one of my characters did! A loud mouth cavalry scout called Texas got a golden staf. infection after being shot in the thigh and died a slow death, thanks to our realistic rule system and Major Po's medical treatment. Good times |

For weapons and vehicles I guess it gets tricky. I guess it would be easiest to pick something very close and run with it. |
