OT - World War Z
Anyone read the book World War Z by Max Brook? Even though it has zombies as the enemy... it is well written and shows how a post disaster world would survive.

I read it a few years ago and enjoyed it. Max Brooks doesn't have a clue about weapons, namely starting up production of new rifles to equip zombie fighters but minor nitpicks aside it's a good read.

Great book. Loved how years after the zombie apocalypse people living near the sea had to be careful of zombies crawling out of the ocean.
If you're into the zombie genre I can highly recommend the webcomic The Zombie Hunters by Jenny Romanchuk. I recently received my first edition signed copy of series one in the mail. Jenny's ideas in the comic could be translated perfectly into a zombie-themed T2K campaign. It follows a group of survivors who have set up a base on an island research campus. They use salvaged ships and a Black Hawk helicopter to go out into ruined suburbia on the mainland to search for useful supplies and other survivors. The group has formed a paramilitary arm called the Red Halos and the salvage teams are made up of people who have been previously infected by the zombie virus but haven't died. They are kept separated from the rest of the populace because when they do eventually die for whatever reason they will turn into zombies. Definitely worth a look for those who like the zombie genre. The funniest thing for me about The Zombie Hunters is that the author and her closest friends are all in the comic. She started drawing and writing the story as an in-joke among her friends but it turned out to be worth continuing in a big way.

I really enjoyed WWZ especialy the way the stories tied together and it was surprisingly well-written. At times you could almost forget it was fiction.

WWZ is great. Brooks started the recent zombie renaissance with his first book, the Zombie Survival Manual which is just brilliant. The market for zombie related books, comics, video games, TV shows, etc. has exploded over the past five years. I feel the backlash is on the way as the market gets oversaturated. Most of it is crap anyway. Brooks' stuff is among the best.
The comic series Walking Dead is pretty good too- really grim and bloody and definitely good fodder for T2K-related episodes.
