OT: Post-Apoc PBP, Possibly STALKER
Hey guys, we had a great talk about a T2000 game, and a good chunk of people seem to enjoy the setting/universe of STALKER. Well I've had these very simple d20 rules for some time (stole them off a player from previous game/campaign), and I made a really handy way to simply generate characters. I wanted to play something with it, and instantly thought of STALKER after reading our lengthy discussion on it.
There's also a diceless STALKER tabletop I picked up, and it gives a lot of detail into creating anomalies/artifacts/etc. I'd use the above mentioned rules instead of it's diceless system however. So, would anyone be interested in a STALKER post-apoc PBP game? I'd keep it casual, as casual as running from inorganisms while your skin burns from the red-hot contact of the artifact can get |

Still don't know if anyone is interested, but I have the roots for the game set-up over on RPOL. The diceless rules really aren't that bad, and are very easy to learn, same with character generation.
Also, the setting focuses on the 'canon' aspects of STALKER, that is, the novel and movie. The games are not actually part of the lore, as they were made without permission from the Strugatskys and don't follow the lore set by the book/movie. |

I have to Bing STALKER before I understand what you're saying...

Stalker is the name of the movie based on the novel Roadside Picnic. There are also the S.T.A.L.K.E.R video games, but they skirt away from the canon of the novel/movie. This tabletop game focuses on the aspects given in the novel and movie. |

It seems that not enough people know what STALKER is so perhaps that's keeping potential players away?

Indeed. Well, I'll be keeping this on the back-burner until I find 2-10 players (rulebook's suggestion).

Sounds like the name of a rather different movie too with very buxom "actresses" and dark nights....
