OT - Deploying Again
I just wanted to drop in and let my friends here know that I'm off to the Sandbox again. RC-South in Afghanistan this time. Right now it's cold there, so the biggest enemy is boredom from what I'm hearing. Hopefully, it'll stay that way. I should have email and whatnot fairly reliably, so if you have something, don't hesitate to send me a note.

Good luck, Eddie. Keep everybody safe over there.
I understand the necessity of rotating personnel out, even during a drawdown, but it's still strange to think that you're on your way in as the Coalition is drawing up logistics plans to move people and equipment out. |

Eddie, don't forget to duck just because you've made it this far. Flying objects are notoriously indifferent to rank and experience. Keep your powder dry, man.

Take no crazy chances. You're a veteran, so just follow your instincts and come home safe.

Gook luck; as one of the posters said, you already know what you're doing. (But don't get complacent!) And if you ever meet a tall beanpole sergeant named James Sumner, tell him his uncle doesn't appreciate his nephew being in a combat zone without writing him!

I second that from Bobcat...."Dont drop your helmet, it might break". Great. Thanks.
Come back safe and bring as many back safe as you can too. |
