Default Civilian Conservation Corps

I found this tidbit while researching ways to get the populace working for you to help rebuild an area, IE Galveston / Long Island.

I like this idea....

A lot of Federal and State Parks were set up using the CCC. In fact if you look hard enough you can still find the foundations for there barracks in many of them.

In a T2K setting...

This sort of program could be utilized to entice the local population to follow/support a newly arrived military unit. Say the 1st Cav just back from Europe trying to rebuild Texas?

This reminds me of the "pogroms" in the core material. Work camp communities dedicated to supplying food, goods or labour to the administering unit or local area. (I'll have to admit, having read the timeline as a young teen, this screwed up my sense of the word "pogrom" in the historical context.)
