Default World in conflict

Anyone played this game? I had it for my PC that crashed, and lost it... which broke my heart. Whoever the heck came up with this HAD to have been in the US army during the cold war. They got the uniforms and equipment all right. If there was ever a "twilight" strategy game that let you move the pieces around, this was about as close as it gets. The music to it was pretty darn good too. Here's a clip I found.

Played it and while the gameplay wasn't too bad... the storyline was annoying jumping back and forth in the timeline.

Also the thought of a Chinese invasion fleet coming ashore in Seattle undetected was too far out.

Amazon has it for download for ten bucks. I don't know if they have DRM, though.

Thanks for the heads up, I'll check that out. The first time I played through, the story line was confusing as hell! But once the 'bomb' dropped (literally) then it suddenly all made sense. I wasn't really crazy about the surprise Chinese invasion either, but after all, it is just a game.

Oh HELL yeah! I got this on Steam a few years back.
Ten bucks currently... and so is the Complete version, with the Soviet Assault campaign.

And as usual, the same deal on Steam in Australia has the price doubled. Unbelievable. Digital download so they can't argue that they have higher overheads here. They just know that Australia is doing comparatively well economically and people are prepared to pay more. It's a scam. So much for free trade.
