Default LRS Company Orbats

Hey team!

I am trying to work out how my Texas campaign might organize a LRS style unit for some long rang recon work this look right to start?

Surveillance Platoon (x3) - 38 men / 14 UCV
Command Section – 2 men / 2 UCV
Platoon Leader
Platoon Sergeant
Surveillance Teams (x6) – 6 men / 2 UCV
Team Leader (TL) Staff Sergeant (E-6) Ranger qualified
Assistant Team Leader (ATL) Sergeant (E-5) Ranger qualified
Senior Scout Observer (SSO) Specialist (E-4)
Radio Telephone Operator (RTO) Specialist (E-4)
Scout Observer (SO) Specialist (E-4)
Assistant Radio Telephone Operator (ARTO) Specialist (E-4)

I could only give you a guess about how an ad hoc team would be equipped. When I was in the Army, the exact composition of units and specific patrols was classified, so I can't tell you anything exact. (It may or may not still be classified.)

What are UCV? Why not horses?

When I was in college (ca1986), I was overjoyed to find in the library stacks a RAND study of LRRP operations in Vietnam. A bit that seemed most relevant to me as a T2k GM was that the optimal size for a patrol seemed to be between 6 and 8 members. More than that was too big and too noisy, fewer than that meant no one got enough sleep.

Unfortunately, that's all I remember of that monograph. It's probably free on the Web somewhere, which doesn't take away from my joy of finding that.
