Top Gun the movie, PLAAF style?
So the subtitles are tiny and they don't stay on screen long enough to read them fully but it doesn't matter much because the translations aren't grammatically structured for an English speaker anyway, the frames per second seems a little fast at times particularly in some scenes were people are walking, the aerial scenes are mostly CGI and not as good as a lot of the CGI we've seen from China, they rip off scenes from Top Gun and an excellent French movie called Les Chevaliers du Ciel (badly translated into English as Sky Fighters), there seems to be more melodrama than any two Tom Cruise movies, the music is wholly over-dramatic with a style that doesn't suit the movie and there's always the faint whiff of Chinese Communist propaganda but...
Holy Chinese Fighter Jets Batman, there's so much to see in this movie! Lots of aircraft scenes, most of the air scenes are CGI but there's a fair amount of live footage on the ground or landing/taking off with a variety or aircraft -J10, Su-27, Il-76, H-6 aerial refueller (although it's mostly CGI), Il-76 AWACS, Super Puma. Plus there's some ground vehicles to see including a motorcycle with sidecar in one scene. The movie isn't particularly good but it's good for a closer look at the modern Chinese Air Force. And you can watch it for free on YouTube. Chinese Sky Fighters https://www.youtube.com/watch?v=A5HGRStHkp4 |

Cool. By the way, my copy of "Sky Fighters" has the full, subtitled "Les Chevaliers du Ciel" on it, I love that movie.
I <3 the Brunette F-15 exchange pilot that's cheating on her boyfriend with the French pilot. XD |
