Default The President

Has anyone done anything with Air Force One, the Presidential Relocation facilities or even NACP aircraft?

In the timeline of game play, there really isn't much call for developing any of these other than the backstory for some New Presidencies group or other group that came about from these facilities during the war.

Though thinking about the "indefinite" flight time for Airforce One, one could imagine the ground support staff gathering supplies to keep the Commander and Chief in the air at all times, causing them to develop the early Ballooners. This way they preserve the "legitimate" head of state from harm on the ground. A bit of a stretch, I know.

Now that is an interesting question.

A few thoughts for this scenario, the USAF could keep the President alive for maybe 2 days tops in an all out nuclear war. Airforce one needs to be refuelled and SAC bases for refuelling planes will get wiped out in short order.

So,,,

1 Once the president, vice president, secretary of state etc etc get killed the role of president drops down the ranks to the most senior living elected official. Supposing he's one of the R5 or works for them?

Then the R5 are a legitimate government of the USA. What happens if they kept him frozen then they defrost him and he starts issuing orders to Damoclese and Snake Eaters?

Maybe the Project froze a couple of their senior allies in government?

2 Supposing the US government got their hands on some cryo tube technology? Supposing the President is out there underground, surrounded by frozen secret service agents and a devision of elite troops waiting to wake up and resume his role?

Supposing it's President Trump?

We know for a fact that in canon the US Government has cryo technology. They froze the Snake Eaters.

With that said there would very likely be several freeze bunkers where people in the chain of succession would be taken and frozen to be in a more survivable state. This will not be whoever is the current President and perhaps would not include the n deck" hitter either. It might be X=2 and down the line. https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/U...._of_succession

Depending upon what is happening and who is alive and who is still in communications with who things will be very murky.

I'm not certain how a thawed out person would be able to verify their identity to the satisfaction of Damocles or the Snake Eaters.

Since a lot of industrialists appear to have friends in politics, what are the odds of one of the Council opening the door "unofficially" to his friend the Pres?

Alternatively, the President may have refused to be frozen - and chosen someone else to be saved.

The players locate the Presidential Cryotube Facility. It's supposed to hold the President and several Secret Service agents. BUT...it does not hold the designated people. They chose to freeze their loved ones and give them a chance for survival
