Scenario/Campaign: Tracks on a Train
Simple scenario idea;
- Design and populate a steam train that has a flatbed railcar for each player - Each player designs a vehicle and its crew. Soft-body vehicles get dismounts - Get a rail map of the area you want to play in. This makes them easy to find on Google Maps - Set up villages/towns, write a description detailing rough amount of defenders - Give the train some support weapons. Vasileks are perfect. - Off you go! |

Trains are an interesting campaign scenario since it's oddly sandbox because of the nature of the transport but can include more. A few bits of pre-written material can help GMs save some time.
1. Going Home (Twlight 2000--I'm sure you've already thought of this) 2. Horror on the Orient Express (Call of Cthulhu. It has great train diagrams, passenger ideas that could be made more late 20th Century and less early 20th with some ease, and a cult which you could swing either way--either Twilight Nightmares/CoC crossover or just a bunch of crazy people. It also has some descriptions of NPCs and places in Europe that are fun) 3. Operation Orient Express (Top Secret. Mostly intel/spy stuff, but Top Secret can be useful for ideas for NPCs for that sort of thing regarldess, since it is set in the Cold War era and often involves European/Amerian/Soviet intelligence operatives) |

The train concept make work in the short run but track maintenance is a killer and become a whole story line itself.
The MilGov has put a short train route back in action to transport food/raw materials but rebels/civ gov/modern day Robin Hood keep cutting the line and stealing the supplies. The Characters have to find the culprits.
