Speaking of avatars, every one I find- no matter how simple- seems to exceed various forum's max allowed pixel size (or whatever it's called). It's weird because I've seen some pretty elaborate ones on forums and I can't imagine they're smaller than the simple ones I want to use.
Where do I find cool avatar pics that are reasonable size and likely to work here (and elsewhere)? EDIT: Whoa! I've got an avatar. That's really weird because I was getting upload failed messages when I tried to slap it on there. All's well that ends well, I suppose.
