Default Semi Canon Europe Strike map

About 33% of these strike locations are confirmed canon. I found several more going through each European module. If I missed anything let me know. The rest (including most warhead sizes) are educated guesses mostly based of canon maps.

As always glad to hear any comments.

Do you have one of Southern Germany, and south of Austria, including Hungary, Italy and other southern Eastern European countries?

I could make a map but I have no idea on strikes on areas not covered by GDW provided maps or text. If someone wants to make a list of strikes (including warhead size), the maps are easy.

I'll double check a few sourcebooks but I don't think there is anything on specific strikes in Austria, Hungary or Italy.

I'm looking for the same thing. My primary focus at the moment is the remainder of Germany, Poland, Czechloslovakia, and Austria.

I'm specifically curious about Dresden. On the division disposition map of central Europe from the v2.2 rule book, there are both NATO (the 6th ID) and Pact units in cantonment near Dresden, but not quite close enough to it to be interpreted as occupying the city itself. This, to me, suggests that most of Dresden is a radioactive slag heap but I want verification from another source.

I know this is semi-OT since it has more to do with ICBM strikes -- but why do Soviet and US missile strikes have about the same throw weight on their warheads in T2K? The Soviets used more powerful, heavier warheads, since even they knew their missiles were less accurate than US missiles. The US could get away with lower throw weights due to better accuracy.

Why I am interested is that I want to run a Pirates style campaign... on the Danube river. From Vienna all the way to the Black Sea... and hmmm isn't the module -Mediterranean Cruise centered on going to Romania via the Black Sea.

Its going to be the backup route for characters to take who missed the boat in going home. And found this little gem in the module...

Quote:
The Soviet forces in Romania represent the last units in Europe
still loyal to Moscow, and, more importantly, they are among
the few armies on Earth to have petroleum supplies.

Just a note going through the modules I added 4 more European strikes.

Riga, Latvia
Ignalina, Lithuania
Gibraltar (Off map)
Oslo, Norway (off map)

I will update the map after a little more research.

Some Notes:

The escalating nuclear exchanges struck Italy in late 1997.
Strikes on military targets turned into strikes on industrial targets
important to the war effort. After these came attacks on
economic targets of military importance. Italy had no oil deposits
of significance, but the Alps teem with hydroelectric power
generating plants, and these were deemed of sufficient military
importance to warrant destruction (several high-altitude bursts
did the job by electromagnetic pulse).

The strike on Ankara destroyed the government, and attacks
on the ports and naval facilities on the Aegean and the Black
Sea crippled the Turkish military. The bomb intended for Istanbul
landed in the Sea of Marmara instead. The waves from the
blast inflicted serious damage on the port facilities in the city,
but left its buildings mostly intact.

Greece received its share of thermonuclear bombs in late
1997

The East Europe Sourcebook has better details and I will make up a list for you Kato.

Funny I literally had just added the Turkey strikes. I made them 1 MT. As for the others, the deliberate vagueness is very annoying even though I understand they did it to allow the GM freedom. I had forgotten to Include the "Last Sub" series when I did the European strikes.
