Default LAV-25

Is the LAV-25 an NBC vehicle? It doesnt say so but you would think a troop carrier would be right? The only thing I found in the material I have is a Tank.

The LAV-25 is an APC. The US Army uses an NBC vehicle that looks somewhat similar, but isn't related, called the Fox; it's based on the chassis of the German Fuchs multipurpose chassis. That's not in the basic rules, however; at the time that that even v2.2 was published, the Army was just bringing it into service, and it wasn't widely known.

Gabe, are you asking if the LAV-25 has NBC protection for its crew and passengers? IIRC, I believe that it does.

It's not really clear what your question is. I hope this answers it.

Have posted the T2k V1 Errata. The list of Radiologicaly shielded vehicles is in there. The LAV-25 is included.

Hay Gabe, I have some personal experience here and might be able to help.
The LAV-25 is an APC, but at least on the Marine corps side we used it as more of a cavalry fighting vehicle (Marines for some reason were trying to steer away from the term cavalry for some reason...)
It doesnt make a very good APC however, it only carries 6 troops by the book, and when you add equipment its really only about four in the back. 3rd Light Armored Infantry Bn only typically carried two Marines in the back as scouts, and then the role changed as the LAI battalions were re-designated Light Armored Reconnaissance battalions. It is amphibious and Ive been in one when we hit the water going 30mph and kept going at about 8mph, however it really wont handle the kind of surf conditions that the AAVs would do, so ship to shore was kind of iffy. The armor wasnt that great either, a .50cal would turn it into swiss cheese.
The really cool part about the LAV is its speed. It could out-run our Hummers. Kind of fun hanging out of one of the troop hatches going 80mph down dirt roads, and we were told that a LAV was clocked at 120mph at the stumps. And a 25mm chain gun is nothing to sneeze at either.

Great info, and story thanks! I was in the Army myself for 8 yrs. as a Field Dental Specialist 91E so I didnt get much combat vehicle exp. in my area outside the hummers lol!
