Good thing is MY girlfriend has no problem with me gaming, I am very fortunate to have found her although it might have had something to do with my 17 CHA. She likes to get in on me n the fellas games when we board or card game such as Flying Buffalos Nuclear War(GREAT GAME!) On the other hand I have left quite a few in the dirt and never looked back no matter how hot they mite be if they have any kind of problem with my Fri and Sats being booked for RPGing.
And I love D&D, we have a game going on Sats. My Twilight game will be run on Fri and Sats that not all the D&Ders show up. We are playing 4th ed D&D rite now and are at 22nd lvl and I cant wait for this game to be done with so we can return back to the REAL D&D.....in my opinion 3.5. |

I wouldn't say that.... ***Looks guiltily at his miniatures armies, his gigundus Battletech, Traveller and GURPS collections (Might cull some of the GURPS 3rd ed, but a lot of it's in such bad shape, it's probably going in der trash), but the Twilight 2000 and 2300 stuff stays...Heck, my said "You get rid of the Twilight 2000 stuff. I'll KNOW something's gone horribly wrong."

Hmmm. I wonder if Javellan would have posted here if he knew this would turn into an RPG player's support group.
I'd like a paper and ink version of Going Home. Too bad I can't order a-la carte. I haven't really tried to get my wife into gaming. She enjoys reading young adult fiction (sci-fi and fantasy) so I could probably get her into something like D&D or Traveller but I think T2K may be a little too dark and gritty for her. One of the reasons I like T2K so much is because it is so grounded in history and reality.

SAY IT BROTHER!!!!
1st edition has always been my favorite. Getting to fourth or fifth level MENT something! I finally turned off of D&D when I went to play a game with a fifth level character I had SWEATED blood to get there. Many an enjoyable gaming session over a couple of years. Only to run into a kid who had a twentyth level something after six months of playing. |

Funny me...I never really got into D and D...Twilight 2000 WAS my first RPG after an abortive attempt to get into D and D. That branched into 2300 and MegaTraveller. But Twilight 2000? It was the first.

Remember the thrill of having your first character ever to reach second level? You felt like you just conquered the world. That was back when getting out of 1st level was hard.

Maybe the thread title should read, "Lost Battle with Twilight 2K -- Wife Must go by May 1."

Agreed. Well AD&D anyways. The original Basic/Expert/Masters etc was what I played first but then along came AD&D where RACE AND CLASS WERE TWO DIFFERENT THINGS!!! I never looked back.

I guess I'm lucky in that I managed to find a significant other willing to tolerate (if not outright participate in) my nerdity. We spent all weekend together geeking out @ WonderCon. I guess it helps that she was an animation and illustration major. The only time it really causes any friction is when my teetering piles of crap escape the den and spread to the bedroom, dining room, or living room - usually when I'm working on something "big" that requires lots of reference materials. I only get away with a couple days of that before she's warming up the shredder.

javvellan -the offer
That might have come across as a bit rude demanding proof etc .Just that nobody likes to be taken for a fool, ey ?
Your way of doing it sounds great ,but I wish you would send me a ball park figure on what you want for the 2nd ed stuff -by PM if you would.Or post here -maybe it will incite a bidding war ( with katos blessing if so should be given ). As for my own thrustworthyness - I give you my word as an officer and a gentleman. |

Example: one of the guys on the Acaeum forum paid me .94 on the original dollar plus shipping (e.g., if a module cost $10 originally, he paid me $9.40 + shipping). To me, that's better than the dumpster and it makes it worth my time to package up and take to the post office, stand in line, etc., and hope I get paid. So, away went the stuff. |

*sigh* Google search, term "Twilight 2000 forum," this forum pops up in top 3. As to me being a dealer.... As I said, I'll send you the stuff first - then you pay if you like, return if you don't. Find me a dealer anywhere on planet Earth with terms like that. Just one. Well, the minimum I think to make my time to do the packaging, etc., is .86 on the original cost plus shipping (so far I've pretty much used the priority mail boxes because they're the easiest for me). I'm assuming something around $25+shipping for those 3 is fair. If you know better, let me know. And no, I don't have the Armies of Night one - never heard of it. |
