Default Soviet Hand Held Radios

The v2.2 rules has a generic 0.5km range hand held radio that weighs 0.5kg.

Does anyone know if the Soviet/Warsaw Pact forces actually had radios of this size during the early 1990s?

Or did they just have manpack radios?

Thanks for any help/guidance people can give me.

This site has a very good list of various Soviet radios. Under each section are the names of the various radio sets. These all appear to be links to a more detailed page about those sets but they don't seem to mention weights and so on, (I haven't checked all of them).
The Soviets definitely had smaller radios than manpack types although some of them weren't exactly handheld and some were limited to only 6 channels or less.

Thanks for this link!

I haven't had a chance yet to go through it in any detail yet but it looks to be very interesting from what I've read so far.

Thanks again.

The generic radio stats in the game are pretty minimalist. Has anyone done more detailed stats for NATO/other Western and WP radios along the way?

I'm a dumb-arse, I have since found that if you use the left side menu and click on "Eastern Block Radios" you will go to a page with links to the individual radios the site has information for. At least some of these do list the weight.
