Default Blast from the Past

Here's what some US analysts were looking at for the Russian FST-1 in 1993. The FST-1 is what the T-90 in T2K v1 is based on.

Yeah, every new Soviet weapon was treated as a potential game changer. I remember when the first MiG-29 and SU-27 photos (from spy sats) came out. There was all kinds of wild and alarmist speculation. It was kind of fun being so freaked out by the Soviets!

And Paul, mad props to you for your new sig. The Golden Child is a forgotten '80s classic. Viva Nepal!

Pretty cool. Way back in the day as a kid I used to always love getting a look at the artists impressions of new/speculative threat systems that DOD put out pretty frequently back in the 80s (looking back on it, I'm guessing I was mostly seeing those things around the time Congress was turning its attention to the next years budget . . .).

It was fun. I miss it. Having another superpower kept us focused and was better for international shipping. When the US and the USSR had big navies, piracy was all but impossible. Alas...
