Default OT-The Aussies are nuts

I just got an almost Complete set of Combat and Survival and Inside I find an Image of an Aussie L34 with an Xm148 attached.

Image at thread bottom

Once again the point is proven that all Aussies are nuts and we should be glad they are on our side.

Funny, that's what we say about you guys!

Seriously though, great photos. I was almost surprised to see that the SAS SLR with the GL attached had a full-length rifle barrel.

Probably true as we American's build stuff and you Aussies tend to modify it to go up to 11.

I mean you take a 40mm grenade launcher and mount it on a supressed Submachinegun or you take the M113 and mount a full Saladin turret on top.

In this case I don't think they were nuts, rather smart. NEVER have too much firepower at hand in the "bloody bush", unless you want the blood to be yours.

Why are debating about Aussie's nuts? They're like Americans, they all have a pair...oh, you're talking about something else, aren't you...?

How about an M-203 with an underbarrel M-203?

Is there such a thing as a double barrel grenade launcher? A side by side would be cool.

Maybe i should write Red Jacket Firearms and see if they can make me a side by side M79?

I don't have the money for one but it would be neat to see them make in a week...

I already knew the Aussies were crazy from the way they do that rappelling face-first shit.

We all should write them. If they got 20-25 emails from all over the world it would be a bigger influence.

They exist in various forms (Google-Fu to the rescue):

DP-64

Sage Deuce Grenade Launcher

A couple I found with a quick search.

That shit is FUN!
Scary as all hell as you have to RUN down the face to avoid smashing your arse against the cliff and crushing the lower couple of vertebrae (which is why they're also called "run downs"), and first timers require a change of underwear afterwards, but FUN!!!

Takes more than some e-mails to do it, it takes MONEY!!! And probably a pretty good chunk of change too.

I like the 4-round pump action grenade launcher, but not as good as the 12 rounders... trouble is reloading those takes a LOT of valuable time.

Those are neat but I picture something that looks like a side by side shotgun on steroids. Strong Google-fu Targan-san.

I like Chuck Norris' nickel-plated pair of Guns of Navarone cannon, in tooled-leather shoulder holsters, with custom triggers and ivory grips.
You know, his "concealed" handguns.

That looked so cool I had to research it and I'm working one up right now. Which of course I need to work up the three rounds the marines came up with (the Hellhound, the Draco, and the HUNTIR), and now I realize there are other GL's I have to apply those new rounds to, and then I see my US GL's page has some missing information, and did I make similar mistakes elsewhere...

Targon, you will be shot and sent to the Russian Front!

OK, now you've really done it. While putting some of the missing information on the US Grenade Launchers page, I found out that there was no 25mm Manville Gun -- he made it in 26.9mm!

Hogan...!

hehehe...Unfortunatly I don't have any really good info on the China Lake Grenade launcher handy. Back when I was first studying the China lake and the EX-41 I did manage to get some info from Kevin Dockerty but I lost the note. Pitty as the EX-41 is one of those rare weapons that few people have seen or heard about. I blaim the Guns.RU site for confusing the two in peoples minds.

No, now you've really done it! The Sage Deuce G-1 has a brother, the Deuce G-2. It's designed for police use, and fires a bunch of whacky 37mm less-lethal rounds, and now I have to come up with rules for them!

Schultz!

If you really want to see somer Aussies going nuts, see if you can find some coverage of The Melbourne Cup horse race, "the race that stops a nation". Starts in about 15 minutes from now. Traditionally this is an event where men and women get blind drunk at the racetrack (or wherever really, all across Australia) and make total fools of themselves. Bring it on!

That's because I helped correct the China lake page and found most of the info for the EX-41 Page. Yeah I've been trying to kill the EX-41=China Lake grenadelauncher meme. I've done a great job outside of the World of Guns page.

Well, it looks like I'm going to have to redo the layout and information on my Grenade Launcher Ammunition page. That's what sometimes happens when I get a new idea -- a massive rewrite.

Well, I can't say I'm surprised. It seems we're all related as our Limey cousins in the U.K. had a similiar idea as well.

Ladies and gentlemen, I present for your perusal, the ISTEC 40x46mm grenade launcher...mounted on an H&K MP5 submachine gun.

Those people paid far too much attention to the Arnie movie "End Of Days". Internet Movie Firearms Database entry here
...and besides, with that pic from Vietnam, it's pretty obvious that we Australians were far crazier far earlier than these British "Johnny Come Lately" fellas
