Default Short term outage. (Dns related)

Due to my choice to migrate to another DNS provider (since my domain name would have expired early next month). We will probably see a short term outage over the next 24 hours.

We will probably see a similar outage in the upcoming weeks as we migrate to a new domain name as that effort has made significant progress recently.

My apologies for any inconvenience.

More like short term outrage, LOL.

Due to technical issues this still has not happened. So expect it over the next 72 hours.

I'm grateful for the operation of this site; I'll just keep any gripes to myself. Thank you letting me know.

I was gonna say - didn't even see a hiccup! But ditto to what Rifleman said. Love this little place. The politics might get a little heated (and I apologize for that) but the T2k discussion is primo. None of the grief as exists in the D&D community that's for sure.

(now bracing myself for someone to link to some massive forum where edition wars between the 1e boxed set, 2.0, 2.2 and T:2013 have raged for 30 years )

Anyway, thanks as always Kato.

still up and running so far

and I know what you are talking about with the D&D community - all you have to do is say the words "monk" or "assassin" on those boards and then get ready for the fight to begin

and yes - I was one of the guys who got really mad when they killed off the whole class - actually one of the few masochists who played a monk starting at level one with a massive 3 hit pts to start with and actually survived long enough to get him to sixth level - frustrating but still fun compared to the hack and slay fighters that everyone else wanted

Monks rule. I played one in Cap'n Rae's Pirates game on RPoL. Well, he was also a monk. Probably not the kind you're thinking of, though.

Annoyingly this has been pushed back another 2 days. If you ever register a new domain DON'T use network solutions.

Ha, been there! For an extra special slice of hell, try registering a .gov sometime.

Here's an idea: Conan O'Brien (pretty much as a joke) created a whole web site using a .xxx domain.

I'm registered through GoDaddy -- I'll recommend them to anyone. Low enough prices that I can get ahead of the registration power curve (IIRC my domain name is good through June 2016 so far), they'll switch the domain you choose over quickly to give you a working site, and they keep you abreast of little things you need to know, like who's asking about your domain name and an estimated value if you decided to sell your domain name.
