Was in an on-line game that basically went on hiatus due to real life intruding into the game but may be starting a game up myself soon online - looking into what is the best way for setting up an online game - havent done that before

I'd love to play, as well. Though I own all rule systems, I've never really played with any of them. This will sound heretical to many, I'm sure, but I'm currently trying to port the rules to a slightly less crunchy version and that is the limit of my current involvement with T2K, other than reading up on Cold War topics and wishing I could play.
Do people here think online play-by-post/forum-style games work best, or do you think a map and chat based game is the way to go (e.g. roll20.net)? Personally, I favor a mix, with a lot of role play and day to day planning being done in posts as often as people favor, given their schedule and battles being played out in short burst sessions in real time, online. I could play but I don't think Id be capable of running a game...some folks play role playing games on facebook believe it or not!
My problem is I don't have any of the rules and I haven't played in years...also when I played we used miniatures mostly. |

I much prefer face to face games, but those are impossible to find (T:2k/13 ones anyways - anyone in central New England speak up if you want a game! ).
So I'm down for a 2k/2013 PbP game also. I have V1 and 2013, but would pick up 2.0/2.2 if necessary to play. |

Started a 2013 campaign back in June and finishing it up in December. Not sure what the plan is after that.

I would absolutely love to be a player in an online game but hate play by post.
We could play using a Voice over internet software and use google maps and google docs, have done so in the past. I have never played T2K13 but willing to try if thats what everyone wants to do. |

I'd be up for a play-by-post TW2k13 game, if someone would run it. Got plenty of character concepts to choose from and more coming up, if needed.

I'm not active in any games, but as my byline says, I'm "the Stat Guy." Chances are, some of you out there are using my stuff (something I have no problem with).

I tried PBEM several abortive times. Trying to get a tabletop group together among my friends, but as it turns out being 30+ wasn't as free-wheeling as I thought it would be as a teenager. |

If you're happy with play by post as a format then there are a number of T2k games running on RPOL, though I'm not sure whether they are recruiting at present. T2013 doesn't seem to work as a play by post format due to the Tick system for initiative/actions so every T2013 game I've seen on RPOL has failed.
I can't help you with chat based games though. |
