Too small.

I have about 8 per region. Short term they escort some of my "Police" teams to a command post. Long term they will be assigned to convoy escort.

An escort vehicle, not a primary vehicle. In a more modern game I would want a team to have a Stryker or some other larger vehicle instead.

Too Small. can only carry two people. With the 20 MM and 7.62, I have seen too many people try to use this thing as a light tank. NOT!!!!

I agree with others, a Striker, or a V-150 or even a Ranger is better than this thing.

i kinda like it because it's that small. it cuts down on people trying to carry have the world with them. besides its perfect for recon teams since they are supposed to be scouts.

The Scout is good, but it's biggest limitation is it's size. There is not that much room to carry much for the crew members, so it will definitely need to have backup to carry and provide support for the crews requirements. Just based on a standard cache contents, there is no way that the Scout can carry it all.

I could see a team using multiples of the Scout but that's about it. But I doubt they would be willing to pack three of them into a Bolt Hole for a team to use. And the more there are, the more maintence that will have to be done to keep them running. Not really a problem if a team wakes up five years after a war, but a hundred fifty? Going to have problems!

Certainly better than the V-150 (TOW) and FAVs for "Desert Search".

Agreed, does not carry much and would benefit from an accompanying XR-311 with trailer.

Three as an AT with two using the TOW system and one with the 30mm would be a potent combo especially in open terrain and rapid movements to alternate positions.

Needs an NBC detection suite to identify and catalog NBC threats.

What to replace the fuel tanks and other items made unnecessary by a fusion plant and electric drive.

Holy cow........ How silent is this thing?

I agree with Army Sgt. that the FAV's are next to USELESS. The TOW V150 is a very tricky weapon system to employ given the terrain of Desert Search. But you also have to realize that they were supposed to meet up with the over all commander in a V 150 w/ 20mm. Put those two vehicles together and you have a very strong "tip of the spear". The FAV's are souped up dune buggies. I CAN NOT see TMP putting a fusion pack on those things. Batteries or multi-fuel engines, yes. The FAV has NO armor. Any hit and it is in trouble. What if the FAV is away from the group on a scouting mission? Now you have lost a fusion engine and all of the advantages that involves.

This scenario might be a good one for the Commando Scouts. Some armor, decent firepower to back up the V 150's.

My $0.02

granted there isn't much interior space but with maybe 6 fuel can mounting brackets you have room for more than enough capacity for the crews personal equipment. lets face it especially for the Morrow Project the old maxim my sergeants taught me applies, "if you can't carry it with your ruck and webbing, you don't need it." as for emptying a cache one should bring a trailor. or only resupply from the cache and lock it back up when you have a full load.

For maximum space and utility. Drop the 20mm and install a MK3 laser. This with a coaxial 7.62 meets the needs of a scout car and frees space that would have been taken up by 20mm ammunition and reloads.

400 x 20mm rounds (wikipedia says the scout carries 400) would take up 5.2 cubic feet if they were in 4 M548 containers. The feeding mechanisms would give you a little bit more.

It helps but it is still a very small vehicle.

Edit. Revised calculations for linked ammo. (originally had done unlinked/bulk)

The Command version with the raised roof pod and a turret ring for a GPMG is doable for some scenarios.

Make this a center piece vehicle such as a highly mobile electronic warfare / radio relay / and radio direction finding vehicle.

One of the hallmarks of a TMP module is the vehicle the Team gets seldom aligns with the needs of the adventure. I think that is part of the overall plan, this way the Team actually gets out of the vehicle.

The Scout is an effective overwatch and support by fire vehicle. The two man crew is not a detriment to the machines effectiveness. A team in a V-150 APC or XR-311 can make contact and know that help with an effective direct fire weapon (20mm or MK3 laser) can cover them.

Maintenance needs are low, without an internal combustion engine this is relegated to transmission lubricants and greasing suspension components twice a year.

If a team has time before they go into cryo I could see welding containers onto the side as extra stowage for gear and possibly used as ad-hoc armor in a pinch. Those slab sides can be used for more than just keeping the wind out.

so mounting the laser and with 4 rucksacks of gear mounted outside of the vehicle (that seats two people) that should be sufficient stowage for long term mounted operations. equip a team with 2 of these and an XR-311 with a trailer as logistical support and you can easily carry everything the team needs (packed right you could bring everything they own at the module start)
