The President
Has anyone done anything with Air Force One, the Presidential Relocation facilities or even NACP aircraft?

In the timeline of game play, there really isn't much call for developing any of these other than the backstory for some New Presidencies group or other group that came about from these facilities during the war.
Though thinking about the "indefinite" flight time for Airforce One, one could imagine the ground support staff gathering supplies to keep the Commander and Chief in the air at all times, causing them to develop the early Ballooners. This way they preserve the "legitimate" head of state from harm on the ground. A bit of a stretch, I know. |

Now that is an interesting question.
A few thoughts for this scenario, the USAF could keep the President alive for maybe 2 days tops in an all out nuclear war. Airforce one needs to be refuelled and SAC bases for refuelling planes will get wiped out in short order. So,,, 1 Once the president, vice president, secretary of state etc etc get killed the role of president drops down the ranks to the most senior living elected official. Supposing he's one of the R5 or works for them? Then the R5 are a legitimate government of the USA. What happens if they kept him frozen then they defrost him and he starts issuing orders to Damoclese and Snake Eaters? Maybe the Project froze a couple of their senior allies in government? 2 Supposing the US government got their hands on some cryo tube technology? Supposing the President is out there underground, surrounded by frozen secret service agents and a devision of elite troops waiting to wake up and resume his role? Supposing it's President Trump? |

With that said there would very likely be several freeze bunkers where people in the chain of succession would be taken and frozen to be in a more survivable state. This will not be whoever is the current President and perhaps would not include the n deck" hitter either. It might be X=2 and down the line. https://simple.wikipedia.org/wiki/U...._of_succession Depending upon what is happening and who is alive and who is still in communications with who things will be very murky. I'm not certain how a thawed out person would be able to verify their identity to the satisfaction of Damocles or the Snake Eaters. For classic MP this is the folks in succession (but not in order) President George Bush Vice President: J. Danforth Quayle (1989-93) Cabinet: Secretary of State James A. Baker, III (1989-92) Lawrence S. Eagleburger (1992-93) Secretary of the Treasury Nicholas F. Brady (1989-93) Secretary of Defense Richard B. Cheney (1989-93) Attorney General Dick Thornburgh (1989-91) William P. Barr (1991-93) Secretary of the Interior Manuel Lujan (1989-93) Secretary of Agriculture Clayton Yeutter (1989-91) Edward R. Madigan (1991-93) Secretary of Commerce Robert Mosbacher (1989-92) Barbara H. Franklin (1992-93) Secretary of Labor Elizabeth H. Dole (1989-90) Lynn Morley Martin (1990-93) Secretary of Health and Human Services Louis W. Sullivan (1989-93) Secretary of Housing and Urban Development Jack Kemp (1989-93) Secretary of Transportation Samuel Skinner (1989-91) Andrew H. Card (1992-93) Secretary of Energy James Watkins (1989-93) Secretary of Education Lauro F. Cavazos, Jr. (1989-91) Lamar Alexander (1991-93) Secretary of Veterans Affairs Edward J. Derwinski (1989-92) Senate Pres. pro tem Robert Byrd (D) House Speaker Jim Wright (D) until June 6, 1989 Tom Foley (D) from June 6, 1989 Just a note. Robert Byrd was from West Virginia, which is pretty darned close to Kentucky |

Since a lot of industrialists appear to have friends in politics, what are the odds of one of the Council opening the door "unofficially" to his friend the Pres?

Alternatively, the President may have refused to be frozen - and chosen someone else to be saved.
The players locate the Presidential Cryotube Facility. It's supposed to hold the President and several Secret Service agents. BUT...it does not hold the designated people. They chose to freeze their loved ones and give them a chance for survival |

How about this scenario. The Team get sent to a lost Morrow bunker, to find the last frozen president. Someone who once they're thawed will provide, the legitimate guidance and leadership a broken nation requires. They start up the defrost cycle, the door opens, the mist clears and out steps.... Donald J Trump. |

Everyone is at DEFCON two....... thinking about Thanksgiving. Even the Soviets are out at their Dachas. If there is any for the COG....this is a Deputy Secretary. The assets to protect and move them are on standby or left on base. Not a soul is expecting a thing, nothing to give anyone a hint that maybe this or that is needed. When I mean out of place, literally that, everyone is on vacation or preparing for vacation.
This is supposed to be one of the reasons there was never any reovery anywhere. The decapitation, while unintentional, was complete on all sides. |

How do you have a hereditary 'elected' monarchy? Who is the 'elected' person(s)?

Historically, it's not unknown to have an "elected monarchy". Theoretically, Anglo-Saxon England worked on that principle. Of course, it was usually a small electorate (the nobility) and potential candidates were also nobility
How about the President has to be from one of a few families? The hereditary heads of the Military, CIA and Congress choose one of themselves to be the President |

In the 80's there was to be a 200 man special ops team and a couple of dozen 3C tractor/ trailers scattered across the country. What if this wasn't scrapped like IRL, but rolled into the snake eaters or a similar program.
