Default Civilian Careers.....

Here are three rough attempts at some civilian careers inspired by the "Twilight 2020" thread. While not finished, they are complete enough for input. The Survival Instructor can cross over to a military MOS, becoming a SERE Instructor. For subsequent terms, no more than 3 points ca go in any one skill.

Guide/ Hunter/ Poacher/ Trapper: STR 5+, AGL 5+
Sm Arms or Archery 2, Biology 1, Navigation 1, Stealth 1, Tracking 1.

Subsequent term skills: put 6 points to use in the following: Archery, Small Arms, Biology, Observation, Tracking, medical(1st aid) Combat Engineer(for Camouflage), Intrusion, Scrounging, Melee, Survival, Climbing, Swimming, Small Water Craft, Fishing, Ground Vehicle, Riding.

Survival Instructor: CON 5+, INT 5+,add a Basic Training package to make a
SERE instructor.
Survival 2, Instruction 1, Leadership 1, Navigation 1, Tracking 1.

Subsequent term skills put 6 points in the primary skills or any of the following: Archery, Biology, Small Arms, Climbing, Combat Engineer(Camouflage), Swimming, Ground Vehicle, Small Water Craft,Riding, Melee, Medical(First Aid), Observation, Scrounging, Intrusion.

Prepper: INT+STR+CON=15

Survival 1, and 5 more points in any of the following: Archery, Biology, Climbing, Combat Engineer, Construction, Farming, Excavation, Melee, Medical, Swimming, Ground Vehicle, Small Water Craft, Riding, Scrounging, Mechanic.

These will be refined and put on a pdf.

Are the first two supposed to be "less skilled" careers? The only reason I ask is because the most common first term has six skills for by-the-book civilians:

Equals EDU (1): Undergraduate University
Six (17): Graduate University, Law School, Technical School, Attorney, Civil Engineer, Commercial Pilot, Computer Operator, Construction Worker, Criminal, Entertainer, Farmer, Federal Law Enforcement, Government Agent, Idle Rich, Journalist, Manager, Private Investigator
Five (5): Mechanic, Registered Nurse, Professor, State/Local Law Enforcement, Truck Driver
Four (4): Factory Worker, Medical Doctor, Paramedic, Politician

Most of the less-than-six-skill careers have bonuses (factory workers, nurses, professors, doctors, and truck drivers get two secondary activities [either immediately or in their second term], law enforcement gets +1 Initiative in their second term, and politicians can't be drafted) - only the mechanic and paramedic don't have something to compensate for the lost skill(s). Well, other than being the person everyone wants to keep alive so they can fix things (mechanic) and being the person trained to keep people alive (paramedic).

No problem. I only caught it because back in April I was working on converting Space: 1889 to v2.2 rules a while back, and was checking TNE and T2K to see what was normal both for first term skill ranks and second term available skills.
