Default NPCs for a Sweden-based Campaign

Björnarna (the Bears)

Inspired by the movie, Red Dawn, and the Fredrik Backman novel, Beartown

The Bears are a Swedish partisan group operating from a small, rural town approximately 600km north of Stockholm. The core of the group consists of members of the town’s high school hockey club team (feeder for a lower tier pro team) For a time, the Bears were led Swedish Air Force pilot shot down earlier in the war, but he was killed in action several weeks ago.

The Bears (currently around a dozen members strong, give or take) are armed with a hodgepodge of civilian hunting rifles and shotguns, and captured PACT weaponry. They ambush PACT forces that stray into their territory, and launch hit and run attacks against PACT units in neighboring occupied zones.

The Bears' battle cry is, “Vilka är vi? Björnarna från Björnstaden!” ("Who are we? The Bears from Beartown!")

As a side note, 4th edition's Referee's Manual gives you alternative Polish and Swedish names for its campaigns.
