State Guard Campaign

This is something I have been working for a while. I wanted my TW 2000 math double checked

I figured the age range for a Guard Solider would be around 45-61

So this means each character would have 6 to 10 terms

6 (Terms) x 4(Term length) + 17 (Base Age) = 45

This sound right?

I was also thinking of adding some other generation rules

1. Limiting Military Terms to no more than three. I based on the fact that most of the characters would have been drafted into the US Military in the 60’s and early 70’s. I figured that a roll 1 D10 vs. the following table

1. Front Line Service Vietnam - US Army
2. Front Line Service Vietnam – US Navy
3. Front Line Service Vietnam – US Airforce
4. Rear Echelon Service Vietnam - US Army
5. Rear Echelon Service Vietnam - US Navy
6. Rear Echelon Service Vietnam - US Airforce
7. Overseas Post – US Army
8. Overseas Post – US Navy
9. Overseas Post – US Airforce
10. Stateside Service – Any Branch

Special: The D10 would be rolled for each Military Term, a roll of 1-3 would give the PC an additional 2 skill points to increase any military skill. A roll of 4-6 would give a PC 1 additional skill point to increase any military skill.

2. Each Character would have roll 1D10 on the following table to determine their draft exeption

2 Registrant deferred because of civilian occupation (non-agricultural).
3 Registrant deferred because of occupation in a war industry
4 Registrant deferred because of agricultural occupation.
5 Registrant deferred because of hardship to dependents.
6 Registrant who has performed military service for a foreign nation.
7 Alien or dual national.
8 Minister of religion.
9 Not acceptable for military service due to medical standards
10 Exempted from service because of the death of a parent or sibling.

Preamble

It is the early late summer of 1998, many states guard units were called up to active duty to protect the remaining food stocks and strategic resources. Usually controlled by the state governor many units have been taken over by federal military forces, this is especial true in the southern US where the fear of Mexican invasion is strong.

The Battle of Texas (Not my worked barrowed for this section)

On August the Mexicans invaded Texas with their strongest forces, consisting of 2 mechanized divisions, 1 armoured cavalry division, 6 motorized light infantry divisions and Soviet Division Cuba. The US Army had a single infantry division and 2 mechanized cavalry brigades in Texas at the time, providing disaster relief at Dallas Fort Worth and providing security for vital oil refining and port facilities in Beaumont, Houston, Galveston and Corpus Christi. Significant Air Force security forces were in the San Antonio area, as it was home to the majority of the US Air Force training bases that remained operational, while sizeable US Navy security forces were in Corpus Christi. None of these however were prepared or equipped for sustained conventional ground combat or deployed to deal with such.

The Mexican 3rd Armoured Cavalry Division and Presidential Guard Mechanized Division crossed into Brownsville and drove headlong for Corpus Christi, which was defended by elements of the 116th Cavalry Brigade, some Navy security troops and a few A4s that were refitted training aircraft. Although the US forces inflict some losses, they are quickly overrun, and the Mexican forces take the city and its oil refineries intact, along with Corpus Christi naval base and several naval air stations nearby. The rest of the 116th Cavalry is hurriedly rushed down from Houston and Beaumont to make a stand at Victoria, and heavy fighting guts the brigade, but also inflicts heavy damage on Mexican forces.

Meanwhile, Division Cuba, along with the Mexican 1st Mechanized Division, Durango, and Torreon motorized light infantry divisions cross the border at Laredo and drive at high speed toward San Antonio. US Air Force security forces in that city are nearly wiped out covering the evacuation of the bases in that area, and survivors hurry up the road to Austin and then further north. The 36th Infantry Division, which had been formed after the nuclear strike from training units in Texas, is hurried down from Dallas Fort Worth to defend the Texas state capital, Austin and cover the evacuation of Fort Hood, it is also to try and delay a possible enemy assault on Dallas and Fort Worth.

What is left of Texas State Guard is based out of Austin, where they have been given the task of guarding two bridges in the south end of the city. While it was easy duty at first it has became more dangerous as Mexican forces advance.

Current Situation

F Coy 2nd Regiment (Travis Rifles) is currently in position along highway 35. The position is a static fixed defence will little done in way of fortifcations. They company currently has about 60 personnel on strength and the PC make up one squad of the company. The company has no machine guns and its heavy weapons consist of one M-79 GL held at the company CP and they have only CS ammo for it. Vehicles for the company are one M38 Jeep, one M151 Mutt Jeep, one M16A1 MGMC Half-Track and box truck used for hauling cargo.

Good Luck, You’re On Your Own

The PC’s have just reported for duty having spent the pervious night on duty, the town is quiet as many people (Guardsmen included) have fled further north. The Acting CO of he 2nd Regiment has granted leave to any person who lives in Austin so they can see to the evacuation of their dependants.

As the PC survey the bridge and highway there is no road traffic or people visible. Just then the Radio cracks to life

Attention Attention, this is an emergency message for all Texas Defence Forces, Mexican Forces have broken through current US Army positions, and are now driving on Austin. All units move north the best way they can regroup in Waco, Good Luck, You’re On Your Own, Remember the Alamo.

BWAAAH! Awesome typo! So will the State Guard be encouraged to engage in some fornications at that position or will they wait until they're relieved by the Navy?
