Way to go! How do we get an autographed copy in PDF?
Tell us about Ambush Alley. Is it more of a small unit or individual characters game? How are the mechanics? Background? I've seen it advertised but really don't remember the specifics.

The name of the ruleset is Force on Force - and is written by the Ambush Alley team and published by Osprey. There are a combination of dice and cards used for unit activations, reaction tests etc.
The Ambush Alley website is here: http://ambushalleygames.com/ There are several scenario books (each of which has detailed OOBs etc): Ambush Alley - Vietnam Cold War Gone Hot - Worlds War III, 1986 Day of the Rangers - Somalia 1993 Enduring Freedom - Afghanistan 2001-2010 Road to Baghdad - Iraq 2003 Fallujah - Iraq 2004 There is also Tomorrow's War which is an adaptation for Sci-Fi gaming. The rules were really popular a couple of years ago and then settled down as figure gamers moved onto the next craze, Dark Age gaming with Dux Brittaniarum or Saga. As you'd expect with Osprey published works the production quality is extremely high but better than that the rules give a good game too. |

@Kato,
You could - but the rules are for platoon / company level action with individual fire teams, leaders and support weapons being the "units of manoeuvre" for want of a better term. I think with much above a company the game would bog down unless you had multiple players. I think most people play with 15-20mm figures - it would certainly work with 10mm. Board size is typically from 2 feet by 2 feet up to 4 feet by 4 feet - a lot of the modern scenarios are set in built up areas so you need lots of terrain. I really like the rules. An alternative set of skirmish rules specifically designed for Afghanistan is Skirmish Sangin which can be found here: http://www.radiodishdash.co.uk/ Malc |

Jason, well done!
There's an area on the company forums for discussion of using the rules set with small-scale minis: http://ambushalleygames.com/forum/viewforum.php?f=113 - C.
