GM trick: NPC picture cards
I'm starting to like the idea of making cards for the players to see when they talk to NPCs, as well as for me to keep track of them. I've started downloading pictures from the internet (usually TV/movie characters) and printing them on index cards, with names and some text. The idea is that it can help the players remember who's who in the campaign. (otherwise: "Wait, there's a king here?" "Weren't we paid by General something-or-other?" "That's a woman?!")
It occurred to me this morning, that I should have been doing that a long time ago, with the little sketches included for so many T2k NPCs in the modules. Anybody do this before? I'm getting ready to start making copies of faces from the modules, to what end I am not sure.

I'm doing something similar. I have started a pic database of soldiers, civilians, raiders, locations, vehicles, buildings, weapons and anything else relavent to t2k for visual reference during play and to make running the game easier. My real inspiration was the awesome PDF source books created by all the dedicated members of this forum.

Yep, photocopied all the portraits from the modules years ago and glued them to a sheet of paper, one page per module. Makes a really handy reference to show players - point at the face, "this is who you see".
Often use faces from other modules for unscripted encounters/NPCs too. Maps, photos, sketches, etc are all wonderful resources too. If players can see what their characters encounter it makes for far less misunderstandings. As the saying goes, a picture is worth a thousand words.

I've done this for years. A picture's worth a thousand words. Video's worth a million words; But I have no idea how to pull that off....
