OT - Advanced GDW Ambush

Found this sweet little site that updates the Ambush series of games and included complete rules, counters and maps.

I am using VASSAL system to recreate the battle in Kenneth Macksey's book First Clash and will post updates on how it goes.

BTW something is wrong with the Manage Attachment and for now I can't post pictures. (FIXED)

No Assault was GDW platoon/battn/rgmt game with command and control.

Solitaire ASL was solitaire game.

Vassal is a system with over 1000 titles of old board games converted to online PVP virtual games.

Love the fact you can change the labels for the units in Vassal.

I thought this thread was about Avalon Hills, Ambush! System which i always wanted to try but never got hold off.

I have in PDF format all the different rules for all the Ambush series including Purple Heart and Move Out and VASSAL does have it in their Module library.

I got the PDF's from an UK company that put a lot of old GDW game rules into PDF format.

Cool. I played a fair bit of Assault back then (actually started with Boots & Saddles), have all of the modules. I played (lost) a VASSAL game 2 years ago, should get back into that.

I don't know if you ever saw the Airstrike game from GDW, its maps are the same scale and art as Assault's, so one might cobble together an air-to-mud module that way.
