Default FFE PDF quality?

Anyone bought the PDFs from Far Future Enterprises? Can you speak to the quality of them? My 1e boxed set is near-pristine but the other day it came close to getting soaked from a spilled carafe of coffee; to prevent that I literally slapped the whole thing off the table. It was undamaged, but man, I would really like to NOT have my set destroyed! I'm thinking of picking up the .PDFs but, years ago I bought a bunch of AD&D PDFs from Bastion Press and later Wizards of the Coast and (back then) the quality was pretty bad, although Wizards has started reissuing them and they're much better.

So...?

Always been pleased with their quality, some issues with cutting and pasting, but nothing that can be worked out. The two best IMHO are the FFE and the Heavy Metal discs, WOC doesn't even make the Top Twenty.

My nickel...

I believe that all the issues of Challenge are on there as well.

The T2k CD-ROMs from Far Future Enterprises (FFE) include articles from Challenge that were relevant to the specific edition e.g. the 1st edition CD has Challenge articles relating to 1st edition, the Dark Conspiracy (DC) CD has those articles related to Dark Conspiracy.

The full magazines are not included on those particular CD-ROMs however all the issues of Challenge are available on a separate CD-ROM and they are pdfs of the entire issue, not just selected articles.

Because FFE is pretty much a one-man operation (Marc Miller himself), the earlier CDs did have some problems (related mostly to the process of copying the files from his computer onto the disc). My 1st Ed. T2k disc has some Challenge articles that didn't copy properly and are thus incomplete.
Also, when Mr Miller was initially getting the GDW RPG material onto CD, he asked for assistance from the fan community (via the Citizens of the Imperium forum I believe) to help locate and supply copies of the material already in pdf form.

This has resulted in some material missing kind of helpful parts like page numbers - although I can only speak of the T2k, DC and 2300 discs, I haven't seen the Traveller, 2013 or Challenge discs. It also means that the pdf indexing is basic or non-existant.
On the positive side, Mr Miller includes the entire collection of material available for that edition so for example the 1st DC disc also includes the Minion Hunter boardgame. The scans are clean and organized as they would appear in the book itself although some of the material that was scanned via OCR didn't correctly render the words on a few of the 1st Ed. T2k material.

Don't let the relatively minor flaws put you off, the majority of the material has translated to pdf well enough to put your original copies on the shelf where they can be protected from over-eager players and carafes of coffee.

I wonder if Marc Millar would ever consider a kickstarter project to get some of the T2k stuff back in actual print.

Anyway, back to the grind.

Oh man, considering the imminent danger to your books was a carafe of the liquid, was that a coffee pun?

I'll admit that I'm jumping to conclusions but it made me chuckle
