Default Twenty Quick Questions for any Twilight: 2000 Campaign

Here are the summarised questions that I used from my previous post referenced in the initial thread to outline the "default" Polish campaign beginning with Escape from Kalisz and continuing through the T2k v1.0 "Vistula Trilogy" and other Polish modules (The Black Madonna, Going Home).

Please use them to describe your own campaign if you wish, particularly if it's set in a different country eg. North America, Kenya or Korea.
(I'm looking forward to seeing what Olefin and Raellus come up with for their supplements).

What is the deal with religion?
Where can we go to buy standard equipment?
Where can we go to get armour repaired or added to salvaged vehicles?
Who around here is a nuclear physicist?
Who is the greatest warrior in the land?
Who is the richest person in the land?
Where can I find a doctor around here?
Where are there "modern" medical facilities?
Is there a university my scholar character belongs to or that I can join?
Where can I find a <insert Skill> Expert NPC?
Where can I hire mercenaries?
Is there any place on the map where weapons are illegal or confiscated?
Which way to the nearest tavern?
What enemies are terrorizing the countryside sufficiently that if I kill them I will become famous?
Are there any wars brewing I could go fight?
How about gladiatorial arenas complete with hard-won glory and fabulous cash prizes?
Are there any secret societies with sinister agendas I could join and/or fight?
What is there to eat around here?
Any legendary lost treasures I could be looking for?
Where is the nearest powerful enemy with a hoard of "treasure"?

Well, you've seen nukes go off, wiping out hundreds of thousands of people in a heartbeat. Does that count?

Whoever's still breathing at the end of the combat. So far that's you, but don't forget for a moment, snipers are a thing...

Anywhere you like. You have food and ammo to pay them right?

You know "famous" equals "sniper bait" right?

I take it you're not yet familiar with the KGB, GRU, CIA, DIA, Mossad, and a bunch of similar secretive organisations like that?

Just keep travelling along roads with no thought of stealth and concealment. I'm sure they'll find you before too long.

Those questions seem a lot more more appropriate for a Gamma World or Rifts campaign than a T2K one.

I actually like these questions a lot

Just to give you a few examples for Kenya (still putting the whole list together)

What is the deal with religion?

Answer - About 70% of Kenyans are Christians, split between Protestants and Catholics, twenty or so percent worship various indigenous religions and the Somalis are almost all Muslims plus you have a sprinkling of Hindus and Sikhs as well - and relations between the Muslims and the Christians are not good currently given the Somali's repeated attempts to grab off the Somali areas of Kenya.

What enemies are terrorizing the countryside sufficiently that if I kill them I will become famous?

Answer - Joseph Kony in LRA run Uganda, the heads of the PARA in Tanzania or Osama Bin Laden who is part of the terrorist group that bombed the US embassies in 1998 and who is in Somalia

Are there any wars brewing I could go fight?

Answer - possible wars - LRA versus the French in the Central African Republic, French attempt to overthrow the LRA in Uganda, LRA Uganda versus either Rwanda or Kenya or both (if Kony is that stupid to take on both which he is), all kinds of fun still occurring in what used to be the Congo, the US and Kenya against the PARA

Where can I hire mercenaries?

Answer - There are mercenary groups for hire in Nairobi, Kisumu and Mombasa and there are always people looking for work at Rick's American Cafe in Mombasa. Pieter Hendriks who leads Total Security Inc in Nairobi is always looking for new assignments if the fee is right.

If you read rantinsavant's original post (link below), this thread's list will make a lot more sense (in the context of T2K).

Yes, it's based on Jeff Rient's original post which was originally intended for a D&D campaign which I adapted.

LOL I enjoyed this, was a great in-character response to the question! I could even move this across to my blog as a counter to my "serious" list of questions if Legbreaker is OK with that.

If I didn't want anyone to use anything I post, I wouldn't have posted it in the first place.

OK great, same here that's kind of the point of the "starter kit" post series - just thought it polite to check
