Love those caches - and not so far fetched - my grandfather's detached garage before he moved in with my brother's family included a locked closet, two gun safes and a separate safe that included some choice items
M1 Garand with bayonet and ten loaded clips plus 200 rounds ammo M1A1 Thompson SMG with six loaded clips and 600 rounds ammo Six assorted 12 gauge semi-automatic hunting shotguns and 900 rounds ammo - mix of buckshot, slugs and bird shot One 12 gauge double barreled shotgun 100 10 gauge rounds - see below Remington 410 Pump Shotgun with 120 rounds of ammo Two single shot rifles with scopes, one shooting 223 Remington (150 rounds), one shooting 30-06 (250 rounds) M1911A1 - six loaded clips, 100 rounds - see below Box, Dynamite - 14 sticks (he originally had 20) Grenades - M26A1 - two, M50 - two (We found out about the grenades and dynamite when he was moving and asked if anyone had any stumps they needed removed - he had them stored in the other safe - together of course - and yes we very gingerly removed them and did some "fishing") - and no he wouldnt tell us how he got them My grandmother didnt want the guns in the house except the pistol and the 10 gauge - which was a Sicilian Lupara - those were for home defense |
