More detailed wound system, "Trauma"
I made a TW4e hack from this excellent universal sourcebook:
https://www.drivethrurpg.com/product/92589/Trauma It is a bit long to explain what I did here, so I have a pdf explaining how to use it for TW4e games run on Foundry VTT v.11. I have also done critical "items" and roll tables for Foundry. Please note that these tables alone will not help you: YOU WILL NEED THE ORIGINAL TRAUMA SOURCEBOOK FOR THESE TO BE OF ANY USE! So PM me if you are interested in how I adopted the "Trauma" -sourcebook to TW4e. If you want:
And if you do P&P I can still ofc. mail you the pdf on how I adopted Trauma for my games. |

Thanks, Vcut. There's definitely room for improvement in the base Damage rules. For example, I find it rather odd that the 4e Crit tables treat head wounds such as "Concussion" and "Slashed Ear" as critical. To me, those are not "critical wounds", especially given that crit's can automatically incapacitate or even kill NPCs. A "Concussion" or "Slashed Ear" would be how I, as a Ref, would interpret and describe a head wound that does 1 or 2 points of damage, not wounds/damage that that meet or surpass the offending weapon's Crit threshold.

Hi Vcut, I'd love to have a look at it so PM sent. I bought Trauma a few years ago to blend into another game and really liked it but hadn't thought of using it for TW2000.

Yeah Raellus I personally found it always a bit odd that a beer bottle or knife to the head is critically hitting pretty much the same as a barrett. Yeah sure the barrett has easier time to get the crit and might even get multiple rolls. And while knives and beer bottles can definitely ruin your day and even kill you with one hit IRL I'd say they should be way lower threat than high-powered rifles if you think of probabilities.
Anyways RAW critical system works with some GM elbow grease and not every table wants to get more detailed in the medical details of death. But the TW worls is such that I'd say wounds deserve a bit more detail... |
