Vehicle roll picks alternative option

My player "The General" asked me yesterday that since U.S. Army vehicle guide came out at a later date than when the boxed set was released, would I allow them to pick something out of the vehicle guide that is equal value price wise as the vehicle they roll on the vehicle table for character generation. I have not given him an answer yet because I wanted to get the forums opinion on this. It makes sense to me but I just wanted to get some insight on the subject folks. So whatdaya think?
