Soviet Trucks
Like any military, the Soviets fielded a variety of jeeps and trucks to support the "sexier" tanks/IFVs/APCs. Since an Army marches on its stomach...here is the unsexy side of the military!
The oldest (read Category III and Mobilization only units) is the UAZ-69. This first appeared in 1943 and is a light utility 4x4 vehicle, it has room for a driver and passenger and up to 600kg of cargo or it can tow up to 850kg. It is 4.025m long, 1.805m wide, 2.05m high and weighs in at 1,540kg. It has a max speed of 100 km/h and a road range of 460km. It uses gasoline (60L tank). It can be easily transported by air and can be air dropped. The UAZ-469 appeared in 1952, it is a light 4x4 cargo vehicle. It has room for a driver and passenger and can carry 650kg internally or tow up to 800kg. It is 3.85m long, 1.85m wide, 2.03m high and weighs in at 1,525kg. It has a max speed of 90km/h and a road range of 540km. It is gasoline powered (48L tank). This is noramlly seen with a rag-top and hard doors.
