Default Operation Linchpin

As everyone here probly knows, I've gotten to where I watch alot of TV and movies to pass the time (or to create background noise)... and i've been watching a lot of cop shows like Person of Interest and Castle.

Now there was a story arch that ended with the episode of Castle called "Linchpin" that dealt with Linchpin theory of little things being done that will trigger larger events down the line. And Linchpin theory is something that the intelligence agencies around the world have spent massive amunts of resources to come up ways of predicting these linchpins. Now the show 'Person of Interest' is all about this machine being used to stop crimes in NYC.

Why am i posting this here... well, it's for this. What if Twlight 2000 had been a means of keeping one of these linchpins from being tripped.

now we're seeing a world that has alot of things going on... and my idea for "World War IV: A World on Fire" was about the various levels of just how much suckage you wanted the world to be suffering...

Flashpoint
Brushfire
Wildfire
Firestorm

I recently added the Wildfire level to bridge the gap between Brushfire & Firestorm... and I was wantng to set up something that would bridge the gap between Flashpoint and Brushfire... but am at a loss for what to call it. I have a good idea for the kinds of adventures and campaigns that would be a part of that level...

I'm posting this hear since everyone likes this genre and that if you all help me with my work, it'd be something i can share with everyone here... and if someone ever buys it, everyone who brought something to to table will get the money. since money isn't why i want to do this... i'm more than willing to sharing the profits with everyone here. only keeping the money that it costs to publish said game, and maybe the money to set up a 'convention' type event were everyone get's a trip to a location we'd come up with.

Now i'm not asking for game system rules or anything like that... there are a dime a dozen game systems out there. I'm more focused on the setting...

And one of the things i want to do, is have a fictional agency that does nothing but these linchpin theories... and thus we have the framework of the game books that are threat reports, orienation breifings and capablity assesments.

i'm thinking of doing the kickstarter route once the game is ready for print... and use this to get professional artwork to fill it.

some of the artwork would be WWII style 'propaganda' poster types as was metioned earlier... because face it... those are just so damn kewl. And would inculde things that can be used as props for the game (character handouts of the briefings for the adventures, the threat reports, and the like)...

what do you guys think? is this a good idea??

Fuck being a hero. Do you know what you get for being a hero? Nothing! You get shot at. You get a little pat on the back, blah blah blah, attaboy! You get divorced... Your wife can't remember your last name, your kids don't want to talk to you... You get to eat a lot of meals by yourself. Trust me kid, nobody wants to be that guy. I do this because there is nobody else to do it right now. Believe me if there was somebody else to do it, I would let them do it. There's not, so I'm doing it.
