snake, try to remember the basics of CQC...
So, im a huge fan of the metal gear series of video games. Most of them are stealth games, but in the most recent game (but the middle of the whole storyline, wtf) the main character has begun his own mercenary company/nation. Instead of linear stealth levels inside buildings or crowded jungles, there are massive open world maps in Afghanistan and the angola-ziaire border in 1984. Instead of stealth being the only way to survive, you now have the ability to do things your own way; frontal assaults, hit and run, call in a gunship or missle strike... And managing your 'mother base', an old oil rig converted and ungraded with several conjoined platforms that serve various purposes. You recruit/capture-n-convert soldiers to fight for you, send them on mission, capture enemy resources, vehicles, and heavy weapons, and research and improve your small arms, gather Intel via your spy network, treat wounds, sickness, and PTSD via in house med bay... The list goes on. The storyline for the game series takes place within our own timeline, until about 2009 and onward. It's an excellent series with a riveting plot, memorable characters, and a surprising amount of depth. T2k/merc2000 would be a perfect system for an RPG adaptation. Idk if anybody here has played or heard about it, but its worth a look.
