Default The Zone, by James Rouch?

hubert 08-25-2005, 09:33 AM Has anyone read "The zone" series by James Rouch. It looks to me like they are taken rightout of a TW2k Game.

DeaconR 08-25-2005, 12:04 PM I've never heard of it, but that link doesn't seem to work.

Rainbow Six 08-25-2005, 03:53 PM I second the non working link.

And have a very, very vague memory of reading a book that might have been the Zone about fifteen years ago. My memory is sooooo hazy but I do seem to recall one of the characters was a female sniper called Andrea? Might have been German or Polish?

pmulcahy 08-25-2005, 04:59 PM Got them on my bookshelf right now. I remember the Andrea wasn't the sniper -- she was sort of an enigmatic partisan who joined up with the group in the first book. I don't remember the sniper's name, but he was British and decided to (and did) kill himself after killing 100 Russians for each one of the three members of his family (wife and two children) who the Russians had killed.

antimedic 08-25-2005, 06:32 PM The snipers name was Clarence. You can still find some of the books on Amazon sometimes. They are o.k. Kind of cheesy, but it is easy to place the stories in a T2K time frame.

hubert 08-27-2005, 04:11 AM Which book do you recommend reading, which is set in WWIII

DamianR 08-27-2005, 05:02 AM I've got 2 3 & 4 on the shelf at the moment. They're not too bad as WW3 books go, but they're no Red Storm Rising or Arc Light...

Very T2K V1.0 though, special ops team of sorts getting about saving whats left of the western world. They end up in the Artic in one book, after stopping a Sovet advance the book before IIRC.
