New Product News & Discussion
Both the Black Madonna adventure module and the Hostile Waters expansion for 4e are now available for pre-order. Physical copies are currently scheduled to ship in June. Those who pre-order either product immediately receive access to the PDF version.
Kickstarter backers gained access to The Black Madonna beta PDF several months ago. The final version was released yesterday. I haven't had a chance to look closely at the Hostile Waters beta yet, but its overall production quality is in line with previous Free League 4e products. It includes a reboot of the v1 Pirates of the Vistula adventure module, albeit somewhat abridged. Like most previous FL 4e material, it's written so that it can be played out in either Poland or Sweden* (with the Gota Canal substituting for the Vistula in the Swedish version). It also includes some material for Boomer and Going Home reboots. Hostile Waters also includes riverine combat rules and a pretty neat collection of fully stat'ed vessels, with illustrations. Cutaway diagrams of both the Wisla Krolowa river tug and an Ohio class SSBN are provided. My only gripe with the vessel selection is that no hovercraft were included. As Hostile Waters currently exists in beta form, FL is collecting errata on its 4e discussion forum until March 10, IIRC. https://forum.frialigan.se/viewtopic.php?t=12557 *This is not true of the Black Madonna. It's exclusively set in Poland. -
