Thanks Chico. Very nice. Interesting how these armored trains have not change that much in over a century.

I guess, I'll have to reduce the sophistication of these in my game.

Do you know the general use of all these wagons? I guess that the Zil-157 was used as a command post and would love to know what was arming the turrets of the fully armored wagon.

Default In fact, it was Russian

The first source Ihad identified it as an Indonesian armored train. In fact, it was a russian armored train, possibly from the chinese-soviet war, that was discussed on an Indonesian forum. Anyone speaking indonesian?

Default Serbs in Bosnia

I love the twin rocket launcher probably taken from an helicopter. And, do you recognize the tank?

Default A last one

Somewhere in Geogia or Chechnia? Doesn't the T-54 armored wagon remind you of something? In addition, that picture could well be a scene from anywhere in Russia during the Twilight War.

I believe the 'tank' is an M36 Jackson tank destroyer

And I thought it would be appropriate to add the link to Britain's Strategic Steam Reserve here from another thread, so...

I keep reading articles that say that the Reserve never existed in the UK, that it was a wishful thinking fantasy of some steamtrain fanatics so as a counterpoint, here's another take on the Reserve,

Whatever. France still has a fair number of these locomotives and rolling stocks kept in working order by the SNCF and by private association. The ones in wales are real. Italy as an impressive number mostly owned by the state and run by amateurs. Swiss has some too... I think Jester told me that you could find several in California... not to talk of Russia... Any country is concerned. It seems that sweden sold its but in the case of France most went to museums and private hands in the country. The only difference between then and now is who pays the bill.

I think that even if it was a wishful thiking, it exists somehow de facto. Although much more limited By the way, what is said on wiki about early diesel is very true and many are still to be found as well.
