What did the CivGov do with the US IV Corps after MilGov pulled out Germany?
Where they abandoned in the former Yugoslavia or did the CivGov try to pull out their troop or work out deal with who ever to pull them out? Would the CIA agents/CivGov attempt to contact the US Fourth Army and other US units that were answering to the MilGov up north to change loyalties after the winter of 2000-2001? Just some more questions. |

As far as we know, they were left there. It was Milgov behind Omega and you can bet Civgov would have left their troops in Europe as long as they possibly could just to show up the military.
I highly doubt they wuld be "abandoned" - it's in Civgov's best interests to keep them supplied and operating to the best of their abilities. In reality this might actually have been little more than a small ship full of ammunition and a few spare parts every few months. The CIA would be actively seeking to "convert" any and all US units, and possibly even a few of the Nato allies. We already know they're working on the Soviets and can assume other Pact members also. In the meantime, you can bet the DIA are doing the same thing.

Well that is one thing, even with the MilGov pulling out troops out of Germany, the DIA would still leave a network behind in Europe.
As for supplies, for the IV Corps did the Eastern European Resource mention anything. I still see the Corps more or less on their own, then again there had to be a carrot for the Corps to switch to the CivGov over simply having a couple new Division moved into there AO. Something that the Commanding General didn't believe the MilGov/Joint Chiefs could provide. |

There is specific mention of the IV Corp in the EES and from memory these units were sent from the US after the Civgov/Divgov split.
More info to come once I've had a chance to look.

Yes I know the units had been sent after the split. As I remember the Corps was made up of Reserve and National Guard Divisions.

I think Albania/Yugoslavia was about the only place Civgov could send troops and not have them bumping into Milgov loyal units. While strategically rather pointless, the ability to send troops to war was politically necessary to develop Civgovs legitimacy.
