The M3 Greaaegun w/ silenced barrel where several series of ports are drilled along the length of the barrel, then a large silencer is fitted over the barrel covering the entire length and of course a bit longer and thicker, making it about the diameter of a standard coup can. That, coupled with the .45 ACP which is a flying house and a subsonic round make it an AWESOME combination. And yeah it was bad ass in the movie "Attack Force Z."

Ah, Attack Force Z. What a classic Australian war film.

I've seen it a bunch. Good flick.

What about the Sten and Sterling with integral silencers and the MP-5SD?

Along those lines, what about the A-10 Warthog? The Iraqis did call it "Silent Death" (yes, I do know that story is apocryphal). Supposedly, the Iraqis called it that because with a long-range shot the cannon shells got to their target before even the engines of the A-10 could be heard.

I might point out that the standard for silenced weapons is still the Welrod. It's still considered the quietest silenced firearm ever made.

There's also the M-1895 Nagant, about the only revolver to effectively be silenced (the mechanical action of the revolver is louder than the shot).
