Well, I finally lost the battle with the wife and all my original Twilight 2000 stuff must go by the end of the month. If you'd like any of the below, make me an offer.

At least you're offering them here and "keeping them in the family" so to speak...
It's a good opportunity though for Gabe The Gun to pick up a few of the modules he's missing - make it easier to string a campaign together. If your arms being twisted and everything absolutely MUST go, I might be interested to taking one of the 2nd ed boxed sets off your hands - it's the only thing I don't have already (although I do have the components besides the box itself).

Given the predictable reactions to this thread, I must wonder if we are being trolled.
(Apologies if I am being far too cynical) |

No, you may be right -- a sales pitch designed to tug at our emotions. I don't need the stuff, but the subject definitely got me steamed at the (possibly nonexistent) wife.

Well if the situation is for real you have my heartfelt sympathies Javellan. I gather it must be a divorce settlement situation? Because I can tell you right now, if my fiance demanded that I get rid of any of my books, RPG or otherwise, I'd tell her in no uncertain terms what she could do with her ultimatum. Any way that you could come to some arrangement with friends to sell the T2K stuff to them with the option to buy it back later?

I can relate to some degree. My ex went so far as to actually rip up some of my books.
I'm soooooooo glad she's my ex.

There could be more to the story that we have been told, so I am not judging. Also I am not sure that this is a calculated move to get more attention as Ebay would be a greater exposure and probably the highest sale price.
That being said given this is a relatively anonymous situation I would only make a payment via paypal as that offers a degree of fraud protection. |

I am glad for my wife
I'm sorry that you have to sell your books. That stinks.
My wife knows about my RPG books. I know about her craft books. She has her hobby, I have mine. Ain't no way she tells me about my books. Ain't no way I tell her about her books. (After all, I DO want to see tomorrow. ) Did you have a price in mind? First one that mentions the "Price is Right" number is the winner? Or is this going to be a bidding war amongst the denizens of the site? |

If you are legit, then we can talk, on this open forum though. I am interested in the following:
Going Home Heavy Weapons Guide American Vehicle Guide And if you have the Armies of the Night Guys, I do question this, as this gent has one post. We often get similiar stories at the yahoo discussion site. I'd rather they just said they were a dealer straight up.

My wife saw the post...pitched a fit...and said "If I did that to you...I'd divorce me." She complains about the hobby from time to time, but she also realizes, it's cheaper than a lot of hobbies around...her main complaint? Lots of stuff..not as much space..but I do sell/trade stuff I don't want any more, and I do a culling every year. So, it's not as if I simply just acquire to acquire....

Being Trolled?
*sigh* So, we've a bunch of cynics, hunh?
Well, it's pretty simple - this Twilight stuff - along with a host of old Harn and AD&D stuff has to go because ... and she's right ... I've not actually played all this since we've got married 17 years ago and it's been just collecting dust and been carted around from apartment to apartment, house to house. Between work and travel and the kids I just don't have time (assuming some sleep once in a while). So, it's tough to argue that I should keep this stuff and throw out things from the kids that they made - there's only so much room in a house. Look - if no one wants the stuff, it's no biggie - it goes in the trash on May 1 (technically, I'll try to sell for "best offer" at our neighborhood garage sale first). I just thought since this was a Twilight 2K forum, might be some interested takers. I got rid of all my Harn stuff (including old campaign notes, etc.) on a Harn RPG forum so thought this was a good way to "keep it in the family." BTW - also with some of the modules are campaign notes, old AAA maps of various areas (like the Ozarks, Atlanta, and so on), plus I think a couple of topographical maps. If you do want any of it, let me know. Frankly, I'm pretty much willing to let it go for shipping and somewhere close to original cost. I'd prefer not to do individual stuff - that's a waste of my time constantly packaging and running back and forth to the post office (thus I'm not posting on ebay) - but if you want a handful of items, let me know and I'll send out all together. Being trolled...*sigh* Let me put it to you this way: I'm willing to send you the stuff - you make sure it's in acceptable condition - and THEN I'll send you an invoice via PayPal or you can pay via check. Would someone trolling send the goods FIRST and then HOPE for payment? I've already gotten offers of $250 for the stuff from folks who will turn around and sell it on ebay. Frankly, I'd rather all these items - and my memories - get a good home and thus I've posted here. I know, sappy, but, 'eh - what are you gonna' do.... john javellan [at] cox [dot] net |

The skepticism is not your fault but is born out of the realities of the internet.
I kinda figured it was a space issue, as an administrator I said I was reserving judgment, since I could not vouch for something I am still not 100% sure about (hope you understand) I actually thought your single other post was indicative of someone telling the truth. A dealer IMO would have hit many. My books and modules are also collecting dust (and I probably only look at a PDF once a month) so I understand. I hope they find good homes. If you still have interest in the game you can just stick around a bit and read our ongoing discussions. Most of us are not playing so that is what we do. |

1. I apologise. I was indeed cynical.
2. You have my sympathies. It must hurt having to get rid of all that excellent material. 3. I saw on The Acaeum Forum the list of Harn stuff you sold. I wish I'd seen that list before you sold it all. I would have bought a bunch of your Harn stuff in a heartbeat. 4. I hope you get reasonable prices for all that stuff. Having to give it up will be doubly painful if you have to sell it for a song.

My Wife just complains about this forum, only from time to time, she shares here complaints with sister law (Canadian Army Wife) and we in turn complain about them complaining about the forum, they stop complain when agree to watch the kids while we post stuff, they go shopping so it's win win

I still have all my D&D stuff packed away -- and it's been 30+ years since I played D&D. For whatever reason, I still get some of the new 4E stuff -- knowing I'll probably never use it.
My name is Paul, and I'm an RPG addict...
