I love the tank crewman's reaction!

Well okay, it doesn't look like a tank on second viewing, probably some APC.

My Russian's weak enough that I can't make out part of the caption. It's "Vasili Bondarenko, Commander, Ognemyotnogo(?) battalion"

So, that's a battalion commander?

I like how it ends up pointing right back at him after it comes to rest.

Another Jav misfire:

Scroll through the first minute and forty seconds of the video. It's literally the gunner just shifting his butt around and various people yammering.

I went to the 2010 National Scout Jamboree (my final year in Boy Scouts), and it was hosted at Fort A.P. Hill. I got to talk a lot with the military personnel there, and one of them talked about seeing a Javelin misfire during training.

The guy firing pointed it downwards after getting past the two safeties, and it shot towards the ground. All the recruits jumped for cover, but the missile bounced up and shot into the sky. The Instructors just sat there and laughed.

My guess is the missile didn't have enough distance in which to arm. Could have been very deadly otherwise, and no laughing matter!

Not surprising they laughed: You'd be amazed at the things soldiers laugh at that would terrify civilians.
