Default Interest Check: Alt. T2k Campaign

I mentioned this off-hand in another thread, here, as just something I was kicking up in my mind.

Basically, it has been two years since the zombie apocalypse. The good news is, most of 'them' have decomposed. The government (the American one at least) has survived in numerous enclave shelters built to weather disasters far worse than hordes of zombies. But, there are more problems than just the 'undead'. Most of the local populace has gone to pot, either rioting and panicking when the undead hordes marched through their neighborhoods, or openly rebelling when the military units declared martial law. Chaos claimed more lives than the zombies.

Enter the PCs, a group of 'volunteer' soldiers who will be leaving the safety of the enclave with all the ammo/food/fuel/gear they can stuff in or on their vehicles. The mission: Discover the fate of POTUS. I call it T2000: Down the Road.

My plans entail for v1 of T2000, because I have the core rulebook readily available. The campaign itself will be very similar to a traditional T2000 campaign. Fuel, disease, marauders, and villages are all common occurrences on the road across the United States. Hell, I'll even set in in 2000, with a different sort of apocalypse. While it might be a relatively 'scenic' drive to Maryland, the countryside is besieged with chaos and the last few hordes of zombies. You'll be safe inside your LAV-25...until it runs out of gas...and you run out of ammo...

So, with that said, does anyone want to embark on this crazy experiment?

I sure will! It will be my first game, and after all, any T2K game is a good game!

That seems like some pretty sound logic!

And for all of those who are worried about time or anything, 1 post every 2-3 days is fine with me. I'll bump things along if they need bumping, but I usually let my players take the wheel when it comes to PBP stuff. And there will be a definitive end to this campaign, so I guess you could call it an 'extended adventure' or something. Point A to Point B, it's just how long it takes until you get there! And the encounters along the way...

I've set up the game on RPOL! It is called T2000: Down the Road. I set it to an Adult-rated game, almost a force of habit to make sure we can cover whatever we want, so in your RTJ I'll need a DOB and a statement saying that you are legally able to view adult content in your place of residence. Gotta follow the protocol.

I'm interested, posting in RPOL as "Deathstalker"

Got Deathstalker all situated. I went and bumped the game down to 'Mature'. It doesn't require a DOB and the accompanying logistics, but we gotta keep it around PG-13. Hope no-one has a problem with that

I will jump in if we can find a time and day that works, my schedule is largely flexible.

I will also let Saint know about this too.

We can use Team Speak, Googlemaps and GoogleDocs like before if you want.

I went and set up a Google Map with the most straight-forward route from Cheyenne Mountain to Camp David. Lots of great stops that I'm sure will offer up some great shenanigans. You can find the link in the thread labeled 'Mission'. Well, if you've been accepted to the game at least.

We won't be needing Teamspeak as far as I'm concerned, because this will pretty much a PBP campaign. I know you had reservations about that with the other campaign, and I apologize. It's pretty much the only way to fit RPing into my schedule.

Any chance you could link to the game directly? Can't find it on RPOL's search.

Thanks for that Jhart, I should've jumped on that earlier, my bad. JHart also threw up some good suggestions in the mission thread (for when you actually get into the game). I would definitely like to see the PCs in a more leadership, or specialist team-roles. Playing a grunt may be fun, but I want the players to have some flexibility!

Default That reminds me!

I don't mean to bump you, but Version 2.2 had a survey with other options. The one that stood out to me was Biohazard, with a bacteria killing 80% of the population and leaving the majority of survivors as "Homicidal Throwbacks" Has anyone pursued this alternative?

Got the game going! JHart is so far the only player. Both of us feel that he needs a little help for this expedition.

You can find the game here, and sent me an RTJ. In said RTJ, I'll need your Date of Birth, and an accompanying statement that expresses that you can legally view adult content in your current residence.

So jump on in! JHart doesn't want to be left stuck in charge of a bunch of NPCs!

Don't take this as any type of criticism but how do you keep a game like T2K at a PG-13 rating? All my T2K campaigns have jumped straight to R18+ (at least) by the first game session!

In line with the RPOL rules, violence and language will happen, but the 'facade' must be suitable for all ages.

I think it goes into saying things like not having graphic sex/rape, extremely gory violence and strong language. Y'know, things that will probably tend to happen in the end, to a degree of course.

I'm probably just going to switch it back to 'Adult', but that brings its own nuances. Like the Date of Birth and statement and what-not.

Believe me, all my other RPOL games are Adult-rated to avoid any problems, but I've had questioning mods before. I play it as safe as I can. I enjoy RPOL as an outlet, and sure don't want to get banned from it.

But I guess it's for the good of the game.

On that note, I have just switched the game to Adult. If that sways anyone to join or not... I just need your DOB and accompanying statement now.
