Pre-Kalisz Chronological Game?

Has anyone run a pre-Kalisz game? I'm running one now that started with the PCs (my teen sons) in Iran, getting shipped home and finding themselves in the middle of the Dain Dangerous concert in Boston, and now in New York during the pre-TDM riots escorting a NYNG convoy to the FEMA HQ in NYC. My plan was to have them ship out as replacements for the 5 ID after this mission and then fast forward to Kalisz but they really seem to like "world-building" chronological aspect of the game. So I'm just looking for thoughts as to whether anyone has done anything similar.
