A lot of work to ponder, they could ally and change the course of the Rich 5. A "Laissez Faire" attitude to economics and the disruption of the proto slave culture at the top of the list. One can hash out anti-trust after the rebuild. Texas would also have the tech support to stay more mechanized and stomp the savages down.
